For more than 20 years, Cyberchase has been a must-see children’s public media series, winning awards including a 2007 Emmy along the way. The series has long focused on math strategies, problem solving, and operations. Now there are new adventures ready for young math students, K-3, that integrate environmental and other STEAM topics into the content.
In this edWebinar, KJ Vanderiet, a former early childhood educator, Bob Krech, one of education’s leading math voices and the Math Advisor for Cyberchase, and Islah Tauheed, vice principal for Newark, New Jersey public schools, will introduce educators to the content now available in the Cyberchase series. They’ll offer some tips and strategies for using this free program and its online components in the classroom and how to share the content with families so students can boost math learning at home too. Math is everywhere…so plan to add some math adventures to your math lineup!
This edWebinar will be of interest to K-3 teachers, math coaches, math intervention specialists, librarians, school leaders, district leaders, and education technology leaders. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.

Islah Tauheed is a courageous advocate for teachers, students, and their families. She works toward change by creating safe spaces where all members of a learning community can let their guard down, express their true selves, and receive honest feedback.
Ms. Tauheed is currently a vice principal in her hometown of Newark, NJ, where she enthusiastically strives to create a mutually beneficial learning community centered in liberatory approaches that seek new possibilities in the field of education to encourage critical love, academic success, and student empowerment. Ms. Tauheed brings with her 14 years of elementary teaching experience and two years of school leadership in the Bronx, NY. She is a graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University, a member of ASCD’s Emerging Leaders cohort, and sits on NCTE’s Elementary Section Steering Committee.
