This edWebinar shows educators how to identify priority concepts for mathematics intervention groups as part of a Multi-Layer System of Support (MLSS). We discuss instructional routines and small-group lesson structure that are proven to promote high engagement and interaction with quality math tasks. These concepts ensure high cognitive demand for all learners.

Viewers walk away with tools that can support high-impact math intervention goals with resources to aid instructional design. We also discuss the potential that AI tools have in supporting those goals, especially those trained on evidence-based resources.

Outcomes for this session include:

  • How to design and implement effective small-group lesson structures utilizing instructional routines that promote high engagement and interaction
  • Why being stuck is a learning moment for students
  • How to select and adapt quality math activities that maintain a high cognitive demand for all learners in an intervention setting
  • Practical tools and resources to create high-impact math intervention goals and design supporting instruction

This recorded edWebinar is of interest to PreK-8 teachers, school leaders, and district leaders.

All Learners NetworkAll Learners Network was founded on the premise that everyone can be successful with math regardless of ability or circumstance. We have found, in our practice with hundreds of teachers and thousands of students, that every single child can be successful if effective pedagogy is used. Our professional development offerings are designed to help teachers make the journey from hoping all children—children living in poverty, children of color, multilingual children, and children with IEPs—can learn, to fully believing that any child can learn math. Our motto is: All means all. Our mission, energy, and expertise are devoted to helping teachers support their students to achieve math success and access to all the opportunities that come with it.
