About the Presenters
Daniel’s deep interest in education, process-improvement, SAS programming and data-driven decision making led him down his career path. SAS provides the tools to inform educators about the results of the processes within their locus of control, scaling data from classroom to district and state level. Six sigma training rounded out his experience and has provided the background to identify opportunities and a methodology for capitalizing on them. The education industry is poised to merge the passion that drives educators with the data that maximizes their effectiveness. Dan’s goal is to be a catalyst for that merger.
As Vice President of Government Solutions, Mark works with LearningMate’s technology and business intelligence teams to devise scalable and sustainable technology solutions, while guiding the development of content and technology accelerators to better support state and local education agencies. Mark is a customer-focused business leader with extensive experience leading large-scale business and IT transformations. Prior to LearningMate, Mark served as an IT executive at Fortune 500 companies including American Airlines, DHL, and most recently, as the CIO at Arizona’s Department of Education. His knowledge of back-end school IT systems helped Arizona revitalize its $5B school financial payment system into a cloud-based, virtual system resulting in an annual cost savings of nearly $50M across 650 districts. Mark also deployed the first Education Intelligence (EI) system, a system-driven student intervention technology, which provided 75,000 teachers and administrators, 1.2M students and 2.5M+ parents access to real-time student information.
