In recent years, as the leader of Cañon City Schools, he has played a pivotal role in advancing instructional practices and shaping the district’s core beliefs, mission, vision, and strategic plan. Adam’s commitment to excellence in education was highlighted early on in his career when he was named the 1997 Sallie Mae First Class Teacher of the Year in Wyoming and then later as the 2013 Administrator of the Year for Gifted Education in Colorado.
His career has taken him across three states, but his most fulfilling work has been with the children and families of Cañon City, where he has served since 2001 and is deeply invested in fostering a nurturing and innovative learning environment. Passionate about leveraging new insights to guide the district into the future, Adam continues his hands-on approach of championing educational growth and equitable opportunities for the students, staff, and families CCSD serves.
