In this edWebinar, learn how to set up a structure for fundraising to support your students who want to travel, regardless of their family income. Carrie A. Olson, PhD researcher and teacher gives a presentation of the fundraising techniques she used to make it possible for over 800 students from a low-income neighborhood to take part in educational travel. She shares the structure she used to successfully raise the money needed for educational travel, including her fundraising handbook template, which you can adapt for a program at your own school.
Viewers will come away from this session equipped with:
- An understanding of how and why you need a structure and a philosophy for an effective fundraising program for educational travel
- Ideas for applying these ideas to your own school and community
- The benefits and drawbacks of creating your own 501(c)3 nonprofit for student travel programs
After Dr. Olson’s presentation, Carylann Assante, CAE, Executive Director of SYTA and the SYTA Youth Foundation, shares information on scholarship opportunities for providing access to travel experiences to young people that would not be possible otherwise due to family hardship or budget cuts in school systems.
This edWebinar is designed for teachers, administrators, and guidance counselors working with teenage students, however, anyone in a position to travel with students or anyone who supports educational travel is invited to attend. Watch for expert advice and inspiration for becoming successful in fundraising for meaningful travel experiences for your students!
