The Future Through World of Work is a free 2-day virtual summit highlighting the creative integration of career development in K-12. The event will center around the transformation of a middle school library into a career center focused on supporting the development of students’ occupational identities. The conference unites workforce, K16 education, non-profit, and government working together to expand new approaches to empower educators to prepare learners for a path to gainful employment. This free summit will be a great learning experience for superintendents, board members, teachers, librarians, foundations, non-profits, parents, career counselors, coaches, government officials, education leaders, and education journalists. Anyone interested in education and/or workforce development is welcome to join!

Our Presenters for Day 1

Hosted by Dr. David Miyashiro, Superintendent, CVUSD;

Keynote Speaker: David Albers, Deputy Chief Operations Officer, Office of Strategy and Innovation, U.S. Department of Education

Over his 25+ year career, Dave Albers has held senior executive roles in credit, collections, risk, loss recovery, sales and marketing with banks and consumer finance companies, both domestic and international. This broad-based experience was gained at companies such as HSBC, SunTrust, Barnett Bank, Household International and Altisource. He has led organizations in all phases of their life-cycles and across multiple asset classes, on corporate and portfolio acquisitions, mergers, start-ups and systems modernization including promoting and leading stakeholders through conversions to mobile, omni-channel environments while restructuring operations to support these changes. Over the last several years, he built a consultancy that focused on helping clients more effectively capture and use data to improve operational results.
 
Mr. Albers is an honors graduate of Florida State University (B.S. in Finance and B.A. in French) and Florida Institute of Technology (MBA with an emphasis in Project Management).
