About the Presenters
Marcy Richards is a dedicated leader in out-of-school-time programming, serving as the Director of Anchorage School District’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) for the past seven years. With more than a decade of experience in education and youth development, she previously led a preschool, childcare, and after-school facility in Anchorage, Alaska. Under her leadership, ASD’s 21st CCLC programs support approximately 1,000 K-8 students annually, providing vital academic interventions and enrichment opportunities in one of the most diverse school districts in the nation—where 116 languages are spoken. Navigating the unique challenges of Alaska, including its refugee population, Indigenous communities, high trauma rates, and logistical hurdles of climate and geography, Marcy is committed to ensuring equitable access to high-quality STEM learning in out-of-school time.
Lupine Reppert has been working in the out-of-school time (OST) field for more than 20 years. She started as a summer camp counselor and later served in various roles in youth development organizations, including LA’s BEST after-school program and the American Camp Association. Most recently, Lupine was Vice President of Client Services for Arrowhead Management Company, a fundraising consulting firm responsible for raising millions of dollars for non-profit organizations each year. Currently, she is the Executive Director at the California School-Age Consortium (CalSAC), for which she has served as a staff member since 2015 and as a volunteer since 2009. Lupine has a Bachelor of Arts in English and music from UCLA and a master’s in public administration from USC. You’ll find her outdoors in her free time—running, hiking, camping, kayaking—or indoors, swing dancing.
Dane Jaber is currently an Instructional Supervisor and SECME District Coordinator for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, the nation’s third-largest school district. As a science educator for 18 years, he has served as a teacher of various courses throughout grades 6-12 before becoming an instruction coach and district-level curriculum specialist prior to assuming his current role. Dane is also an active member of the Florida Association of Science Supervisors and the National Science Education Leadership Association.
