How can you best provide information to your community with your website?

Higley Unified School District in Arizona sent a survey to their community last May to collect feedback on their communication strategy. The results kicked off a series of changes to their website that revolutionized the way they share content with their website visitors.

Watch this edWebinar to learn the six steps Higley has identified that will help you revamp your website content. By the end of the presentation, you’ll be able to answer:

  • Who are your audiences?
  • What is the goal for each page?
  • When will each page be viewed? Year-round or seasonally?
  • Where should the page live within your website?
  • How should the page look visually?
  • Why is your website performing or not performing?

Watch this edWebinar to learn how to review, revamp, and evaluate your website’s success. This recorded presentation will be of interest to communications professionals, public relations leaders, webmasters, superintendents, tech leaders, and principals.

About the Presenters

Michelle Reese joined the Higley Unified School District in 2013 as the public relations coordinator after a nearly 20-year career in journalism. Since then, the public relations team has grown from two people to a four-member team, plus an intern. The team today oversees website content and compliance, public and media communication, crisis communication, marketing, social media and public information requests. The team put a new focus on website content to align with the district’s new strategic plan, adopted in 2017. As the team’s leader, Michelle helps drive the team’s goal to stay strategic in planning and focus…often with a coffee or two in hand.

Aimee Mackenzie joined the Higley Unified School District in 2016 to assist the public relations team with website compliance and the district’s OCR compliant. She quickly learned how to navigate the website, identifying areas for improvement in terms of delivery and content. In 2017, she became the district’s PR technician, responsible for website and social media. In 2018, the Arizona School Public Relations Association awarded Higley two awards for website creation: a new Higley History page and a new Kindergarten page. Designed by Aimee, both pages were driven by the team’s desire to create engaging information for the community, with an eye to keep information easy to follow and OCR compliant.
