Story play challenges children’s imagination while reinforcing their listening and retelling skills, and story play adds another layer of language and vocabulary. When you are interactive and nourish children’s creativity, you expand their world, and story play provides an opportunity to share cultural experiences. Unlike electronic media, playing with stories offers a new world of imagination. Find the best recipes for you and your children and learn new, easy-to-use techniques.

Mary Jo Huff is an amazing storyteller with 30 years of early childhood experience and is a well-known industry speaker. Don’t miss your chance to hear her practical advice delivered as only Mary Jo can—you are guaranteed to laugh and learn during this edWebinar! Viewers learn about:

  • Developing your recipe for story play
  • Practical examples and ideas you can use with your group of children
  • Engaging with playful storytelling as you add music, puppets, and props
  • Improving language skills, creative thinking, and imaginative play

This recorded edWebinar is of interest to teachers of young children as well as school, district, and education technology leaders.

Stephen FiteAbout the Moderator

As long as Stephen Fite can remember, he has always loved music. At the young age of five, he had big dreams of being the fifth Beatle. That whole British band thing never panned out, but he has found something even better. He has realized his dream of playing before crowds of screaming fans—the very young variety. The bonus is that through his play he is able to touch their lives by aiding in their education. He is an award-winning musician/writer whose albums have received 18 nationally recognized honors.

Stephen has been giving workshops and keynotes since 1986 and has presented keynotes at the following conferences: Kindergarten Teachers of Texas, Oklahoma Early Childhood Association, DLM Summer Institute, Southern Early Childhood Association, Missouri AEYC, Illinois PreK – Kindergarten Conference, Kaleidoscope Conference, and many more.
