We have all been instantly thrown into a world where life and learning has to happen remotely and online. This new world provides many challenges and opportunities for teachers, leaders, and families. Companies are quick to provide access to free resources, but how do we sort through these and provide guidance to our schools as to what works best and what doesn’t? In this fast-paced, interactive edWebinar, innovative educator, Carl Hooker, provides insights and strategies to help overcome our fears and empower ourselves and our students going forward into this remote learning world.

Mr. Hooker will start by looking at some of the best strategies schools across the country are using when it comes to remote learning. Then, he’ll discuss tools for teachers that are suddenly forced to transition from face-to-face teaching towards remote teaching. Finally, he’ll discuss some of the opportunities gained by going remote and how schools might leverage this learning in the now unpredictable future.

In this edWebinar, Mr. Hooker gives special attention to tackling issues around:

  • Consistency of communication during a long-term shutdown
  • Handling equity and access to all of our students
  • Discussing advantages between synchronous and asynchronous learning
  • Giving our teachers a toolkit of basics to get started teaching remotely
  • Supporting parents suddenly thrust into the role of teacher

EdTech can be a powerful tool to help now more than ever if we use it wisely. If you’ve been thrust into this world of remote learning, join this edWebinar to learn and discuss best practices for your school or district. If you’re a tech pro, you’ll learn tips you can share with others in your professional learning community to help them advance in their use of technology when it comes to remote learning.

This recorded edWebinar will be of benefit to kindergarten through high school teachers, librarians, and school and district leaders.
