The impacts of computer science are all around us and part of many facets of our everyday lives, and yet, learning to code is often not a subject included in K-8 classrooms. Watch the curriculum developers from UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science to explore this question: What if coding were integrated into core science instruction instead of being an isolated, after-school, or elective activity for a select few?

In this edWebinar, we examine some of the barriers that exist to equitable access to coding and computational thinking for all students and experience cutting-edge and research-based instructional materials that help address these barriers. These Coding Science Internships have been designed for grades 6-8 to make coding an interactive, collaborative, and science-based endeavor in service of students finding solutions to real-world problems.

This recorded edWebinar is of interest to teachers, librarians, school and district leaders, STEM coordinators, summer school coordinators, and technology coordinators of the middle school grades.
