Are language and math skills the best predictors for school readiness? This interactive edWebinar explores recent research as it not only relates to school readiness but emphasizes the need for developing executive functioning skills. Attendees may change the way they perceive and practice effective teaching and begin using cognitive-based strategies that can impact children’s success in school and possibly close the achievement gap.

Steven Erwin, National Early Childhood Specialist for Kaplan Early Learning Company, shares recent research on math, language and executive functioning and the impact on cognition and school readiness. Learn how to:

  • Identify and explore current research on the connection between math, language and executive functioning on cognition
  • Identify and connect cognitive processing skills and the four cognitive constructs of play
  • Explore the role of resilience in increasing cognitive capacity and decreasing stress for teachers and children

Learn more about connecting research to building school readiness. PreK-3 teachers and administrators will benefit from watching this recorded session.
