About the Presenters
Command Master Chief Jeffrey L. Hiscocks is a native of Belmond, Iowa. He entered the U.S. Navy in February 2000, attending basic training in Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL. In June of 2023, he transferred to Program Executive Office (PEO) – Team Submarine at the Washington Navy Yard. The Team Submarine concept divides the single submarine-centric organization into specific PEOs with the goal of enhancing the structures and processes in the submarine research, development, acquisition, and maintenance communities. Team Submarine provides exceptional communication among the various offices that contribute to the overall success of the United States Submarine Force. Master Chief Hiscocks is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 192) (Red) and the U.S. Navy Leadership and Ethics Center Command Master Chief/Command Senior Chief/Chief of the Boat course (Class 153) in Newport, RI.
Dr. Carrie Curtis serves as the Education Programs Project Manager for the Maritime Industrial Base (MIB) Workforce Development Team, collaborating with partners nationwide to support the U.S. Navy’s mission to build and sustain submarines and surface ships. She leads national scaling efforts of MIB educational programs, driving workforce development initiatives. Dr. Curtis holds a bachelor’s degree in history, a master’s degree in teaching history, and a doctorate in higher education administration. With over 12 years of experience as an educator at both secondary and post-secondary levels, she has designed multiple curricula focused on career exploration, technology integration in the classroom, and literacy development through historical content. Dr. Curtis has a strong background in developing and executing cross-curricular project-based learning and aligning curricula across various educational levels. Her role within the Maritime Industrial Base offers a distinctive platform to further her commitment to supporting students by delivering practical solutions for their success.
