The key to emergency preparedness is right there in the name—preparation! The time to create your emergency plan is not during an actual emergency. Sadly, events of the past few years have put society more on edge than any time in recent memory. Crime is on the rise and is at record highs in many locations. Unfortunately, active shooter events are also on the rise. There were 611 mass shootings in 2020 and 693 in 2021—including an all-time high number of school shootings. Are you prepared?

Watch this edWebinar with leading expert Andrew Roszak from the Institute for Childhood Preparedness to learn actionable steps you can take to help make your school, Head Start program, child care facility or after-school program more safe and secure. Andrew provides an overview of evidence-based approaches and discusses ways to reduce or eliminate vulnerabilities that are common among child-serving institutions.

This recorded edWebinar is of interest to teachers, librarians, and school and district leaders of the PreK-5 grades.
