This edWebinar is designed for early childhood trainers, coaches, and administrators. Learn how to “lose the lecture” and engage early childhood professionals in communities of practice, professional learning communities, mentoring, coaching and effective training sessions. This presentation will highlight key aspects of communities of practice and share examples from a leadership community of practice.
Participants will learn about the reflective strengths-based coaching model and how to engage teachers in reflection during coaching conversations. Ideas on how to facilitate effective training sessions will be shared including examples of attention getters, ice breakers, brain breaks and engagement strategies.
The goal of the edWebinar is to provide trainers, coaches and administrators with ideas on how to engage participants during professional learning. Three types of professional learning will be featured: communities of practice, reflective strengths-based coaching and effective training sessions.
Participants will learn how to lose the lecture and use engaging approaches to early childhood professional learning. There will be time to get your questions answered at the end of the presentation.
About the Presenter
Teresa Byington, Ph.D. is a full professor of early childhood education at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension. She loves to train, coach and facilitate communities of practice and professional learning communities. She is a frequent presenter at state and national conferences. She is very excited to have her first book, Lose the Lecture: Engaging Approaches to Early Childhood Professional Learning published by Gryphon House.
