FlippedThe title “Top Ten Reasons to Flip” may sound “flippant,” but counting down the reasons provides a solid framework for analyzing powerful educational changes in classrooms that are being pedagogically “remodeled” through flipping.  This webinar, held by edWeb’s The Flipped Learning Community, was more of a “why to” than a “how to”, but included links to great flipping resources for those wanting to take the plunge and go deeper.  Presenter Kathleen Fulton, M.A., author and President of Fulton Creative Consulting,  gave participants a clear and compelling set of arguments in response to the question increasingly being raised by school boards, parents, or other teachers: “Why in the heck are you doing this flipped classroom thing?”

This webinar gave educators—teachers from all grade levels and subject areas, as well as principals and other administrators —an overview of the reasons why flipping may just be the “hottest new thing” in education today.   It was built upon the research collected for Kathleen’s book, Time for Learning: Top 10 Reasons Why Flipping the Classroom Can Change Education, published in June by Corwin Press.
