edWeb.net and MeTEOR Education announce the launch of the free professional learning community on edWeb.net to help educators at all levels create high-impact learning environments and experiences for their students.

Linda Dove, M.Ed., and Director of Learning Experiences at MeTEOR Education, presented an opening edWebinar on April 3rd to launch the program to an audience of over 300 educators from around the country and the world. She presented research that shows the impact of effective learning environments on student performance. Educators were highly engaged during the program and had lots of questions about how to design effective environments that encourage students to take risks, work for special needs students, and help to manage disruptive behaviors. They wanted suggestions on how to afford creating new environments when resources are limited.

MeTEOR Education is sponsoring a community on edWeb, Classroom Environments: From Class Set-up to Student Engagement by Design, which is a free online community that will provide educators with opportunities to collaborate on ideas, successful practices, and resources related to classroom environments, student engagement, and more. The community will be hosting a series of edWebinars during the year, and educators will earn CE certificates for attending.

Joe Forgét, VP of Brand Strategy at MeTEOR Education, commented on the lively engagement in the initial edWebinar, “The level of discussion we experienced in the chat room was inspiring. The participants were sharing some of their challenges while offering up possible solutions to their peers. We are very excited about future engagement in the Classroom Environments community as we expand on our edWebinar series.”

Lisa Schmucki, founder of edWeb.net, commented, “We’ve presented some webinars on edWeb that have touched on the topic of classroom learning environments and educators are so interested in this topic. We’re really excited to launch a new online community!”

Educators are invited to join the free Classroom Environments: From Class Set-up to Student Engagement by Design professional learning community on edWeb.net for invitations to upcoming edWebinars, online discussions, and access to resources.
