Announcing the edWeb Educator Voice – Professional Learning Research Insights

edWeb.net announces the launch of the edWeb Educator Voice, a professional learning research series on important issues in education.

edWeb provides online professional learning for preK – 12 educators on an unprecedented scale. In 2025, educators earned CE certificates for over a million hours of professional learning.

As of January 1, 2026, edWeb increased the requirements to earn a CE Certificate. Educators must complete a Professional Learning (PL) Plan on their goals for viewing an edWebinar, the impact on their professional practice and on their students’ learning, and rate the program on a 5-star scale.

Our launch report summarizes the data for the first quarter of 2026. For the period of January to March, educators from all 50 states and over 100 countries completed 192,526 PL Plans for viewing 4,050 edWebinars with an average rating of 4.63 out of 5 stars.

Educators’ reflections on this volume of professional learning is unprecedented in scale and scope, and captures the authentic voices of educators, the “why” behind the learning, the practical ideas being taken back to the classroom or school, and the difference educators hope to make for the students they serve.

Each report in the series will “spotlight” an important topic in education. The March report dives into educators’ PL Plan reflections on edtech, a critical topic, as there are many initiatives pushing back on the use of technology in schools.

edWeb’s professional learning edWebinars are free for educators thanks to more than 500 learning partners and sponsors who recruit expert presenters and cover the widest range of topics for preK – 12 educators.

Lisa Schmucki, founder and CEO, commented, “We’re excited to publish this data on a continuing basis, and will make it available for sponsors, advocacy, and research organizations. We hope it will benefit the education community with clear evidence and insights on what’s needed and what works for professional learning that meets the diverse and fast-changing needs of educators and their students.”
