abacus-497215_1280Schools and teachers often find manipulatives gathering dust in the back of a closet. Our Summer 2015 webinar series is an opportunity to explore new uses for familiar manipulatives, as well as a look at new tools to add to your toolkit. In this edWeb.net webinar presented by the Building Understanding in Mathematics community, Dr. Sara Delano Moore shared manipulatives which help students develop conceptual foundations for expressions and equations. Sara explored helping middle school students see algebraic operations as a continuation of their elementary work.
