Your school or district website is not just a platform for information but a vital space for community building. Ensuring your website follows ADA guidelines is crucial—not only because it’s required by law, but because it connects everyone in your community to valuable updates and resources.

Join us for this edWebinar as we explore:

  • Why website accessibility matters and how it affects your community
  • What your legal obligation is on a federal and state level
  • How to update your current website content to ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines)
  • How to maintain an ADA-accessible website going forward

You receive a downloadable checklist to help you achieve ADA compliance for your school or district website, plus critical information about why compliance is important. This recorded edWebinar is of interest to K-12 school leaders, district leaders, and education technology leaders.

Jess Cook

About the Presenters

Jess Cook spent approximately eight years in the classroom, teaching English to students in grades 7–12 across Maryland, Florida, and Tennessee. This foundational experience as an educator enriches her current role as the Creative Marketing Manager at Edlio, where she leads marketing campaigns, manages the company website, and develops creative content that helps schools connect with their communities.

With over a decade of experience as a freelance marketing writer, Jess blends her deep understanding of education with a talent for storytelling. She holds a B.A. in literature, an M.A. in teaching, and an Ed.S. in curriculum and instruction. Now based in the Nashville area, Jess shares a home with three amazing kids and two very opinionated cats. While no longer teaching, she still spends most of her reading time immersed in books written for teenagers—because some habits never fade!

Roland Rios

Dr. Roland Rios has dedicated over 30 years to education, serving as a math teacher, high school assistant principal, and middle and high school principal. Before joining the Edlio family as the Community Relationships Manager, he was the Director of Technology for the Fort Sam Houston Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas. During his tenure, he also served on the TCEA Board for ten years and was honored as the TCEA Technology Administrator of the Year for Texas in 2012.

At Edlio, Dr. Rios is responsible for coordinating public events, building partnerships with educational organizations, and running the SuperUser group, a mastermind community for current Edlio clients. When he’s not enjoying time with his family, Dr. Rios loves performing community service, taking photos, and playing the guitar and ukulele—though he admits he’s still working on his skills!
