This edWebinar covers teaching students about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) using discussion. Ada McKim, World Issues Teacher, TEDx Speaker, and Co-Founder of the #TeachSDGs education movement, provides teachers with new strategies to engage students in the Global Goals for Sustainable Development, and take an active role in their learning.
Learn how the SDGs can be used to help students grapple with real-world problems through meaningful discussions. With these simple strategies, teachers can help students have discussions that get them working towards solving real problems that affect their world. This gets them actively engaging in their own learning. Discussion is recognized as one of the top activities for increasing learning outcomes over time. Discussions are a simple activity that can help teachers introduce difficult topics and get students collaborating, communicating, being creative and thinking critically about issues and problems in the world.
By viewing this recorded edWebinar, teachers will get a better idea of how they can make discussions a central and integral activity to their classroom and their students’ learning. This recored session will be of particular benefit to middle and high school teachers, school leaders, edtech integrators, and instructional coaches.

Ada McKim is a world issues teacher, a TEDx speaker, and a co-founder of the #TeachSDGs education movement. Her life’s mission is to facilitate the development of empathetic, active global citizens. In her spare time, she enjoys managing the @TeachSDGs Twitter account and spending time with her partner, her three daughters, and reading books.
