This edWebinar explores using STEM approaches, topics, and technologies to bring new life to core science classes. As instructional time, resources, and funding become increasingly focused on core subjects, teachers, principals, and district leaders can find ways to bring innovative STEM experiences to students while fulfilling state standards.

Topics include integrating the engineering design process, structuring lessons to increase student engagement and inquiry, and emerging technologies that relate to core standards, such as hydroponics and smart circuitry. About the Presenter

Hope Thompson is the Program Operations Manager at NextWaveSTEM. She is a former elementary science teacher in Baltimore and Chicago Public Schools and has also held roles in instruction and curriculum design for robotics courses for students from Pre-K to third grade. At NextWaveSTEM, she oversees the implementation of STEM programs across the country as well as the ever-growing NextWaveSTEM curriculum catalog.
