Election years are always tumultuous, and this one is even more so. The presidential election is not only a fundamental aspect of our democratic process but also a crucial opportunity for your students to understand and engage with civic responsibility.
Don’t let concerns about partisanship, neutrality, or conflict hinder your civics, history, and social studies instruction. Join us as we discuss how to approach the teaching of civics and current events in a non-partisan way and create meaningful cross-curricular connections to deepen critical-thinking skills. We also provide tips for engaging students in fact-based instruction about the electoral process.
This recorded edWebinar is of interest to middle and high school teachers, librarians, school leaders, district leaders, and education technology leaders.
About the Presenters
David Raymond has taught American history to eighth graders in York County, Pennsylvania since 1995. He says Bobblehead George has given him the opportunity to enjoy his passion for teaching history in new and unique ways. Along the way, he’s made many new friends, collaborated with amazing organizations, and visited places that he never thought possible. When not teaching history, he spends time with family, bicycles, and spends time in the great outdoors.
