Discussing the dilemmas that historical figures faced can give students new perspectives and fresh insights into key periods in our nation’s history. In this edWebinar, viewers learn how exploring human elements and personal stories in primary sources and curated museum exhibits enrich dilemma discussions, giving students authentic connections to the decisions that often changed the course of history.
Codie Eash, Director of Education and Museum Operations at Seminary Ridge Museum and Education Center in Gettysburg, and Sharon Jackson Tice, a social studies teacher at Downingtown Middle School in Southeastern Pennsylvania, showcase how virtual museum tours, digital resources, maps, artifacts, and the stories of 19th-century soldiers, civilians, doctors, and nurses ignite understanding of the issues and dilemmas that impacted the lives and the outcome of the Civil War.
