Tina H. Boogren, Ph.D. is an award-winning educator, best-selling author, and highly sought-after speaker. Dr. Boogren has proudly served as a classroom teacher, mentor, instructional coach, and building-level leader and has presented for audiences all over the world. Dr. Boogren’s highly requested and inspiring keynotes, workshops, and virtual webinars focus on quality instruction, coaching, mentoring, and professional wellness. She also hosts a weekly podcast, Self-Care for Educators with Dr. Tina H. Boogren.
Dr. Boogren was a 2007 finalist for Colorado Teacher of the Year and was a recipient of her school district’s Outstanding Teacher Award eight years in a row. She is the author of numerous books, including The Beginning Teacher’s Field Guide, 180 Days of Self-Care for Busy Educators, and Take Time for You, which was the Independent Publisher’s Gold Award winner. She is a co-author of Strategies to Motivate and Inspire Students along with Robert J. Marzano, Darrell Scott, and Ming Lee Newcomb, and is a contributing author to Robert J. Marzano’s Becoming a Reflective Teacher.
Paula Maeker is an educator, consultant, and advocate for learner-centered education. She has more than 23 years’ experience as an elementary teacher, literacy specialist, instructional coach, Title 1 program coordinator, campus administrator, director of elementary literacy, and director of instructional design. Paula most recently served as Director of Instructional Design for Tomball ISD in Houston, Texas.
Much of Paula’s career has been spent serving high-needs campuses as a literacy teacher and instructional coach. She specializes in building collaborative teams, coaching leadership through the professional-learning-for-all culture, using assessment to inform teaching practices, and creating effective instructional frameworks to guarantee high levels of learning for every student. Paula has been named Teacher of the Year and Professional of the Year, in addition to many other local honors and awards. She also served at a school that earned Model PLC School designation and was named both a state and national School of Character.

In living out this passion, she not only works within her system but serves as an independent educational consultant, speaking and facilitating teacher and administrator groups worldwide. Her sense of humor and flexible, responsive approach to adult learning makes her a sought-after professional support for systems and schools. Katie is the author of three Solution Tree books: Softening the Edges, Unlocked, and Student Self-Assessment (coming in October 2021).
