Nigel NisbetAbout the Presenters

Nigel Nisbet is the vice president of content creation at MIND Research Institute and leads a team of content specialists in building engaging, interactive and completely visual games that teach all students how math really works. He came to MIND after working as a mathematics specialist for Los Angeles Unified School District where he designed and delivered professional development programs and implemented the transition to Response to Intervention (RTI) programming. Prior to joining LAUSD, he taught mathematics, AP physics, and AP computer science at Van Nuys Senior High.

 

Andrew R. CoulsonAndrew R. Coulson, Chief Data Science Officer at MIND Research Institute, leads a team of data analysts to conduct evaluations of student and teacher usage and outcomes via ST Math. He has successfully partnered with NGOs and universities in multiple funded and unfunded research ventures, including NSF and IES. Previously, he led MIND’s education division for 12 years, executing strategies to scale the organization’s reach to over one million students. Andrew was also the first education program officer for a major Orange County foundation. He worked for 17 years in upper management in high-tech manufacturing engineering, acquiring experience in operations, process engineering, product reliability, and technology transfer. Andrew earned a bachelor’s and master’s in physics from UCLA.
