One of the most pressing issues educators face today is the mental health of their students. In this edWebinar, Dr. Hanni Flaherty, Assistant Professor and Chair of Advanced Clinical Practice at Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University, provide helpful tips for identifying and assisting students who struggle due to emotional and environmental factors that go beyond classroom studies.

The session provides a social worker lens that is complementary to teacher education. Viewers receive an application fee waiver if they wish to pursue a Master of Social Work degree with the Wurzweiler School of Social Work. This offer is good until May 31, 2024.

Hanni Flaherty

About the Presenter

Hanni Flaherty, Ph.D., LCSW is an Assistant Professor and Chair of Advanced Clinical Practice in the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University. She has completed her Ph.D. and MSW at New York University Silver School of Social Work. Prior to returning to NYU for her Ph.D., Dr. Flaherty practiced clinical social work for over 15 years specializing in adolescent high-risk behaviors. Dr. Flaherty’s research interests are in the areas of clinical social work practice with a focus on innovation implementation and social work education with a focus on the transition to online education. Her research agenda focuses on examining factors that may facilitate the adoption and implementation of evidence-based practices for mental health clinics serving high-risk youths. Dr. Flaherty’s academic training, research, and years of clinical social work experience have uniquely positioned her to be an effective teacher of social work education and a researcher informed by her rich clinical experience.
