About the Presenter
Michele Lynch, M.Ed. is a National Content Specialist for Heinemann, and a former classroom teacher and principal. Before joining Heinemann, Michele taught elementary school for 11 years in New Orleans in a variety of school settings: low-income public, high-performing charter, and all-girls’ independent schools. During that time Michele was awarded Teacher of the Year for New Orleans Parish Schools in 2004, after being nominated by her colleagues at Robert Mills Lusher Charter School, recently renamed The Willow School.
Michele left the classroom in 2012 to found Bricolage Academy prior to its opening in 2013. Bricolage Academy is an open enrollment school whose mission is to advance equity and create innovators and remains one of the most sought-after public charter schools in New Orleans. Following her time at Bricolage Academy, Michele was principal at Foundation Preparatory Charter School, a K-6 school, that values a student-centered experience rich in literacy and social and emotional learning.
Michele received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Louisiana State University Baton Rouge. For her master’s degree, Michele graduated with distinction from RELAY Graduate School of Education in NYC.
