Join HMH’s National Mathematics Content Specialist, Margo Dye, for this edWebinar as she shares the “Spies and Analysts” mathematical modeling strategy. During this collaborative session, you’ll discover practical ways to get students “unstuck,” allowing them to persevere in modeling, which is key for problem solving in the secondary classroom. Teachers and students will love this creative and critical-thinking strategy and applying it to many mathematical problems in and out of the classroom.
This edWebinar will be of interest to high school teachers and school and district leaders. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
About the Presenter
Margo Dye is a national STEM content specialist and came to HMH in January 2007 directly from teaching in a middle school classroom. Her 20 years of teaching experience in public and private schools gives her a balanced approach to connecting with teachers. In the 14 years she’s been with HMH, Margo has delivered dynamic sales presentations, created and shared training summits for school districts and national conferences, and conducted numerous implementations for small and large groups of teachers, both nationally and internationally. Margo holds memberships in NSTA, NCTM and ASCD, and is a contributing follower of pertinent educational discussion groups on social media. Among the many hats Margo wore while teaching, her favorites were those of being a middle school team leader, intervention-reading specialist, mentor teacher, Science Olympiad coach, and middle and high school girls’ basketball coach.
