Gabriela PalaciosAbout the Presenters

Gabriela Palacios is an eager, first-year teacher in the Dallas ISD Alternative Certification Program. She has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brigham Young University. She’s traveled the world (over 20 countries) and speaks three languages (English, German, and Spanish). She has a passion for teaching and writing. She genuinely loves her job and feels excited to learn and grow alongside her students. She believes every student has unique talents and a valuable perspective to offer.

Stephanie BrayStephanie Bray has been teaching English for 12 years in Oklahoma City suburban public schools. She has a bachelor’s degree in secondary English education, is certified in AP English Literature and Composition, and is an experienced AP Exam Reader for the College Board. She currently teaches AP freshman and senior English literature and she is also the adviser for the award-winning school newspaper, The Howler. Stephanie believes in the importance of a student’s voice and using writing to amplify their voice and purpose. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys practicing aerial silks and can often be found performing throughout the city.
