Changing students’ learning experiences starts with changing professional learning experiences. In this edWebinar for school and district leaders, panelists share a competency-based approach to professional learning that builds internal capacity into schools and districts scaling their learner-centered practices. This competency-based model for professional learning starts with a rubric-based self-assessment of current pedagogical practices to inform goal setting. From there, learners engage in relevant, contextualized, and personalized learning pathways. The result? Professional learning experiences that drive meaningful change and establish a model and learning cycles for both professional and student learning throughout a district or school.
Viewers will gain a framework for impactful professional learning, learn about assessment tools and strategies that support and inform a competency-based approach to learning, and hear from school leaders using the model. This recorded edWebinar will be of particular benefit to K-12 school and district leaders.
