All children need social and emotional skills so they can learn and be successful in school and in life. To be successful academically, children need to learn how to control their emotions and how to work in groups; these skills are necessary to thrive in school or any other learning situation. Children who can control their impulses and behaviors are much better prepared to listen and learn. About the Presenter
Jody Martin has over 35 years of extensive and diverse experience in the early childhood field. She taught preschool, directed a childcare center, and was the vice president of education and training for a national childcare company. Presently, she is the content manager for Frog Street and contributing author for the new Frog Street Pre-K curriculum. Jody has authored Preschool Health and Safety Matters, Bringing the Outside In, and several courses for online training companies, and has written several articles for early childhood publications. Her book, Rethinking the Classroom Landscape: Creating Environments That Connect Young Children, Families, and Communities, was awarded the 2017 Book of the Year. Her latest book, Through a Child’s Eyes, focuses on classroom design. Jody is a dynamic presenter and recognized leader in the field of early childhood education with a commitment to providing quality programs for children.
