Representing a variety of ethnic groups in instructional materials and lesson plans is not always easy. How can schools and educators complement their core ELA and social studies curricula with culturally relevant, standards-aligned instruction to increase student engagement and deepen learning?

David Carr has nearly 30 years of experience as an educator and school leader. Watch to learn more about his experience creating an ethnic studies curriculum for Los Angeles Unified School District. In addition, viewers get a complete overview of specific lesson plans that address how different ethnic groups have motivated social change. Presentation materials include access to free, curated content that viewers can use in their schools and classrooms.

This recorded edWebinar is of interest to K-12 teachers, librarians, school and district leaders, and Title 1 directors.
