The ubiquity of media and technology in our lives has come with far-reaching implications: a culture of cynicism, disagreement over facts, increased incivility, and a rise in hate speech. Despite these challenges, we also have a generation of young people who are energized to be more civically engaged and eager to leverage the power of technology for good.

Watch Daniel Vargas Campos, Program Manager at Common Sense Education, and Eisha Buch, Director of Education Programs at Common Sense Education, to learn more about the deep relationship between media literacy and civic learning and how you can help strengthen your students’ digital civic agency. In this edWebinar, we go over our refreshed News and Media Literacy Resource Center, discuss how media literacy evolves across grades K-12, and explore our brand-new Civics in Digital Life activities for high school students.

This recorded edWebinar is of interest to middle and high school teachers.
