Suzanne Bell, Education Writer — Suzanne writes about the ideas and best practices that are shared in our edLeader Panels so we can spread innovative and best practices to the education community. She is a creative copywriter, journalist, educator and a two-decade marketing veteran. She began her career as a freelance journalist, writing for The Miami Herald, and continued using journalism skills to ghost-author articles for clients, research and write white papers, brochures, blog articles and other industry-specific news. Suzanne developed a keen sense of marketing and brand strategy working for start-up and established brands worldwide, including drafting creative campaigns for Nike, Converse, Jordan, Albertsons, Safeway, and more. For the past decade, she’s helped education tech companies position and promote their offerings, crafting award-winning campaigns for Cambium Learning and Lexia Learning. She’s researched and reported on industry trends, technology and consumer behavior, including Nike’s sustainable manufacturing history, the mental health epidemic in public schools and the U.S. literacy crisis. She also earned her master’s degree at Syracuse University so she could teach locally, becoming an adjunct professor for the University of Oregon and Central Oregon Community College. She lives in Bend, Oregon, and is a Florida State University alumna.
