Improving ELA Skills Anytime, Anywhere

With the new school year upon us, teachers face the challenge of implementing Common Core Standards and increasingly using technology with an emphasis on literacy.  Mobile devices are increasingly being used in the classroom and by students in their daily lives.  In this month’s Mobile Learning webinar, presenter Darla Moore introduced new ways of using mobile apps to improve literacy for both middle school and high school students.  She introduced several apps along with both teaching strategies for how to use them and also ways to implement them with the new state standards.

Presented by Darla Moore, a veteran teacher who has had experience with grade levels from 3rd to College.  Her main subject area is English Language Arts and has received National Board Certification in Middle School ELA.  Through her years of teaching she has been associated with many National organizations including working with The Gates Foundation, PRAXIS, and as a grant reviewer for the US Department of Education.  Recently she has been writing a series of teacher guide books for YA novels and works for PrimeTours.org as an Educational Marketing Consultant.
