About the Presenter
Gloria Marchus is an educational technology consultant at Samsung. Prior to Samsung, Gloria was a high school teacher in Round Rock, Texas, where she used interactive whiteboard technology in her classroom. She understands the unique challenges that teachers face and uses that knowledge to guide K-12 educators, schools, and districts through their technology advancement efforts.
CJ Reynolds has been a classroom educator for 16 years, teaching high school Literature and The History of Hip-Hop in West Philadelphia. He is also the author of Teach Your Class Off: The Real Rap Guide to Teaching and the creator of the Real Rap with Reynolds YouTube channel. CJ speaks at schools, universities, and conferences all over the country.
CJ’s work is always aimed at giving the world an authentic glimpse into what it looks like to teach high school in the inner city while at the same time building pathways and pipelines to help new and veteran educators become the teachers they’re called to be. His bare-bones teaching philosophy is simple: In the classroom relationships are king, and education is only ever about the students.
Anthony Alexandre is an educational technology consultant with Samsung Electronics America, providing PD for the Samsung Flip Interactive Whiteboard. Anthony previously taught sixth- and eighth-grade reading in Harlem, New York, before joining the team at Samsung. Anthony is excited to be able to advocate for student and teacher needs while helping classrooms become acquainted with Samsung’s new Educational Technology.
About the Moderator
Joyce Whitby is a lifelong EdTechKnowLedgist who started off as a special ed educator in New York City, and then taught graduate-level EdTech courses at Long Island University. Since then, Joyce has been in the business of educational technology and has held key leadership roles in sales leadership, professional development, and marketing with organizations like Apple Computer, Scientific Learning, and SchoolMessenger. She also has extensive experience working with startup EdTech ventures. In 2017, Joyce and her husband (aka @tomwhitby, co-founder of #edchat) launched their consulting business working with emerging and growing EdTech companies, seeking growth in revenue and market share.
