About the Presenters
Danielle Yates is a Student Training Program Manager in the Student’s and Learner’s Division of the Office of Public Engagement at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). She works with students in the Intellectual Property Skills – Work-Based Learning Program where she is responsible for applying analytical techniques in order to make recommendations related to learning systems and evaluating the program’s success in terms of how students pursue fields of study related to IP, innovation, STEM/STEAM, entrepreneurship, and federal service. Danielle is a former secondary educator who holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, and an Education Specialist degree in math education.
Juan Valentin is an Education Program Advisor in the Student’s and Learner’s Division of the Office of Public Engagement at the United States Patent and Trademark Office where he is responsible for the development and implementation of educational projects of national and international scope, with a particular emphasis on directing and coordinating the development of STEM, design-thinking, or invention-focused projects infused with intellectual property concepts. Juan holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Clarkson University.
