Student mental health and motivation needs have quadrupled since 2020, and for the first time in 20 years, this disruption to learning has caused major drops across reading and math academic growth. About the Presenters
Katie Dorn, MA, LSC, MFT is the CEO and co-founder of EmpowerU, a solution that has disrupted the delivery of mental health supports to schools. A dynamic speaker, published author, and leader in the education field, she has a strong passion for finding effective ways to help students and families overcome mental health obstacles and thrive.
Dr. Michelle Langenfeld is a collaborative educational leader with more than 30 combined years teaching and leading schools in both suburban and urban settings. Coming from a business background, Dr. Langenfeld has made it her personal mission to ensure that all students have access to high-quality, engaging educational opportunities and experiences that will prepare them for successful futures.
During her nine-year tenure as Superintendent in Green Bay, Wisconsin, she worked in partnership to develop and implement innovative and engaging student learning pathways resulting in significantly improved graduation rates for all student groups and graduation gap closing. While serving as a principal in the largest district in Minnesota, Dr. Langenfeld‘s school was recognized nationally for closing the achievement gap. Since stepping away from the superintendency, Dr. Langenfeld continues to teach graduate students while also serving as an education consultant, providing executive coaching as well as consultation supporting mental health initiatives.
