There are many different solutions and approaches to accomplishing a school lockdown. In this webinar, these methods were explained and evaluated by how well and how safely they meet the need for instant lockdown security, while still offering simplicity and speed of use, accessibility to First Responders, and operational longevity and reliability that all schools require during normal everyday use.

Schools are special areas of public assembly that are often difficult to instantly secure in an emergency, while still maintaining an intrinsically safe and code compliant environment for the building occupants. Understanding how different hardware elements must work together is critical to achieving a safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors alike. David Akins and Mark J. Berger, both with Securitech Group, Inc., removed the mystery surrounding the correct uses of special locking devices and also help you better assess security and life safety conditions in your school and college facility.

Topics included:

  •  How to recognize and identify the problems presented by different types of door openings in schools.
  • How to use the recommendations of the Homeland Security Primer to Design Safe School Projects to assess their security plans.
  • How to apply the relevance of CPTED (Crime Prevention Through Environment Design) principles.

School administrators, district superintendents, teachers, facility managers, security directors, and building architects will benefit from this webinar.
