About the Presenters
Gianna Gurga is a veteran FCS teacher with a passion for supporting students through financial literacy, while leveraging social media for good. Based in Hartford, Connecticut, her zeal for both learning and teaching is contagious across all platforms. In this edWebinar, Gianna will not only share her favorite financial literacy activities to use in the classroom, but she’ll also gladly give you the “secret sauce” for how to make engaging activities that will live with students for a lifetime.
Jessie Stone Fox, M.Ed. has been in education for the past 14 years, as a high school social studies teacher in Hawaii, fifth-grade English teacher in Israel, and college success coach. She now works as EVERFI’s Sr. Director of K12 Community Engagement from her home base in Portland, Oregon, where she connects educator communities with relevant, no-cost resources for their classrooms. Jessie is thrilled to bring educators together around a common goal of gifting students with real-world skills, and provides free access to engaging content around financial literacy, health and wellness, diversity, equity and inclusion, digital wellness, STEM, and social-emotional learning. Jessie also hosts free bi-weekly webinars, along with EVERFI’s free flagship summer educator conference, LearnOn.
Jesse Poquette, M.Ed. has been working in education for the last 10 years, starting as an elementary and middle school teacher in NYC. He now works as the local implementation specialist for Oregon and Utah, helping teachers and students best utilize EVERFI’s amazing no-cost resources in their classrooms. Jesse is eager to partner with educators to help develop the tools and skills their students will need to become culturally conscious and confident leaders.
