Children who do not read over the summer can potentially lose more than two months of reading achievement, and unfortunately summer reading loss is cumulative. Keeping students engaged with reading and literacy activities over the summer months can help maintain their academic edge and mitigate learning loss.

In this edWebinar, discover how a collective effort combining schools, community leaders, and local organizations can minimize summer learning loss. Elyse August and Caroline Marandino of myON discuss how everyone can contribute to providing equitable literacy experiences. By supporting resources that engage children in literacy opportunities over the summer, communities can narrow the achievement gap.

PreK to grade eight educators, reading specialists, literacy leaders, librarians, and administrators will benefit from watching this recorded session. Learn strategies to keep your students engaged in reading and literacy, and minimize the summer slide.
