Spoiler alert: Memorization, flash cards, and timed tests are not on this list! So, what are the must-haves for building students’ math fluency? True mathematics fluency emerges not through rote memorization, but through a focus on number sense and reasoning.
In this edWebinar, join Dr. Jennifer Bay-Williams, Professor of Math Education at the University of Louisville in Kentucky and prolific educational author, for an interactive, research-informed journey through four must-haves to ensure every student develops procedural fluency with basic facts and beyond.

About the Presenter
Dr. Jennifer Bay-Williams is an international leader in mathematics education and a prolific author. With over 35 years of K-12 teaching experience, she has served on the boards of directors for the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) and TODOS: Equity for All, as well as served as the President of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE). Her books include the best-selling Math Fact Fluency and the Figuring Out Fluency series; she is also a co-author on the iconic Elementary and Middle School: Teaching Developmentally. Dr. Bay-Williams currently works at the University of Louisville in Kentucky where she coordinates an Elementary Math Specialist online program and works with pre-service and in-service teachers.
