An accomplished leader in learning design and corporate social responsibility, Kiki Huckaby brings over a decade of experience in creating innovative education programs that bridge skills gaps and empower diverse communities. With expertise in program development, strategic partnerships, and thought leadership, Kiki has successfully designed 750+ learner-centered experiences and facilitated training for 12,000+ participants.
As a passionate advocate for equitable education, Kiki aligns impactful programs with CSR and ESG goals, fostering career pathways in tech-enabled roles for underrepresented groups, and currently serves as a Learning Experience Designer for IBM. Kiki holds a master’s degree in curriculum studies and combines academic rigor with a hands-on commitment to social justice, having dedicated 1,700+ hours to AmeriCorps service and teaching abroad. Whether driving strategic initiatives or inspiring learner engagement, Kiki is dedicated to shaping the future of education through innovation and inclusion.
A champion for learners and innovators and trained in design thinking, Joanne da Luz’s goal is to ensure solutions are data driven and user centric. She advocates for access and propels growth initiatives for mission-driven organizations. In her current role as Implementation Manager for IBM SkillsBuild, Joanne is responsible for managing all aspects of program implementation for U.S.-based partners to ensure high-quality delivery.
Her startup and edtech consulting experience includes partnering with leadership teams to plan and execute on key products and solutions, leading programs, and collaborating effectively with engineering, operations, marketing, and customer support teams. Joanne’s first career in education spans 20 years as a National Board Certified Adult/Young Adult math teacher, academic director, Carnegie Scholar for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, Research Associate for WestEd’s Quality Teaching for English Learners, and founding member of a CA Charter High School of the Year.
Kimberly Smith is Chief Inclusive Innovation Officer at Digital Promise’s Center for Inclusive Innovation. She collaborates with a national network of forward-thinking school district leaders working in partnership with their communities in engaging in equity-centered research and development of solutions to advance equity and excellence for every learner. She held previous R&D education leadership positions at the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship, PBS, Discovery Education, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting pioneering education technologies, interactive curricula, pathways programs, and teacher professional development models.
An Aspen-Pahara Institute fellow and co-founder of the National Charter Collaborative, she received her MBA from Johns Hopkins University and BS in journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder. She serves on the boards of Beacon House in Washington, DC, CatalystED, the Learner Centered Collaborative, and the National Charter Collaborative.

Digital Promise’s Center for Inclusive Innovation reimagines education research and development (R&D) by resourcing the creative ingenuity of communities working in partnership with school districts to create equitable powerful learning opportunities for students furthest from opportunity. The foundation for Inclusive Innovation is anchored in a set of core tenets that embody an equity-centered approach to research and development. The tenets define how we deliberately support teams in co-constructing an inclusive R&D culture that enables equitable leadership and contribution.
IBM SkillsBuild is a free education program aimed at increasing access to technology education. The program includes an online platform that offers courses on AI, data analytics, cybersecurity, and many other technical disciplines—as well as workplace skills. Most importantly, participants can earn IBM-branded digital credentials that are recognized by the market.
