edWeb.net and Voyager Sopris Learning Launch Professional Learning Community on Adaptive Literacy
edWeb.net and Voyager Sopris Learning® announce a new, free professional learning community on edWeb, Adaptive Literacy Learning. Voyager Sopris Learning helps preK-12 educators meet and exceed their goals for student achievement, and provides support in the key areas of evidence-based instructional solutions, in-depth professional development, and use of cutting-edge technology to accelerate learning.
Adaptive Literacy Learning will help educators realize and experience the value of adaptive learning in individualizing instruction and propelling K-5 students to achieve at or beyond grade level. The new professional learning community offers educators a place to post questions, share practical tips, and get feedback from experts and peers on topics like how to incorporate adaptive learning into your lessons, become an innovator in your classroom, and create brilliance in your classroom through innovation. The community also offers free edWebinars for educators. edWebinar participants receive a CE certificate for attending a live presentation or for viewing a recording.
The community’s first edWebinar, “Adaptive Literacy Learning 101,” will be held at 7 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, September 19. Lauren Kimlinger, First Grade Teacher and Technology and Math Instructional Leader at Boise-Eliot Elementary School in Portland, OR, will give an introduction to adaptive literacy learning. Attendees will learn about recent survey findings that show instructional leaders overwhelmingly see the value of adaptive learning solutions to help individualize instruction, and will hear how an elementary teacher incorporates an adaptive ELA program in her classroom.
Educators can register for the edWebinar on the event page.
“Voyager Sopris Learning is thrilled to be working with edWeb.net as the Adaptive Literacy Learning community will highlight the growing trend of how adaptive learning is helping to serve as a valuable extension of the teacher’s presence in the classroom,” said Ileana Q. Rowe, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Voyager Sopris Learning. “We have a long history of building research-based and data-driven products that put the student and teacher at the center of the learning environment, as our newest adaptive learning solution, Velocity, is proof.”
Lisa Schmucki, founder and CEO of edWeb.net, commented, “Voyager Sopris Learning is passionate about student success and together we are delighted to launch this new community to help teachers make that happen with adaptive learning. Supporting professional learning is one of the best ways to support student learning!”
Educators are invited to join the free Adaptive Literacy Learning professional learning community on edWeb.net for invitations to upcoming edWebinars, online discussions, and access to resources.
