Good news! The Common Core standards in math and English/language arts are infused with information & technology skills expectations. However, while it is relatively easy to develop and teach lessons on specific skills, it is more challenging to design and implement a comprehensive program that ensures that every student in every grade learns an identified set of Common Core information & technology skills.  That’s where the Big6/Super3 comes in. The Big6/Super3 provides a systematic framework and approach to a positive, standards based information & technology skills instructional program across the K-12 curriculum.  Michael Eisenberg, professor and dean emeritus at the University of Washington Information School; and Bob Berkowitz, consultant and retired library media specialist, present an overview of the Common Core Standards and a review of the Big6/Super3. They also explore the connection between Big6/Super3 and the Common Core Standards, the application of Big6/Super3 skills to Common Core Standards, as well as ideas for designing your Big6/Super3 Common Core Information & Technology Program.
