Gamification of classrooms and creating game levels to demonstrate and share learning redesigns cooperative learning experiences. In the edWeb.net Game-Based Learning community’s November webinar, presenter Joli Barker, TCEA’s 2013 Classroom Teacher of the Year, provided practical applications of how using ready-made games can be utilized beyond consumptive learning into productive educational opportunities. Joli demonstrated innovative ways to utilize gaming as assessment tools and inspired attendees with examples of several global projects that have used gaming and gamification to amp up learning. Joli spoke from experience to provide attendees with tips, tricks, lesson samples, and a fearless approach.
