About the Presenters
Kim Bailey is the former Director of Professional Development and Instructional Support for the Capistrano Unified School District in California. Her leadership was instrumental in guiding and supporting educators throughout the district’s schools to implement the professional learning model of continuous improvement. She also taught courses in educational leadership as an adjunct faculty member at Chapman University in California. Prior to her work in professional development, Kim served as an administrator of special education programs and a teacher of students with disabilities. Kim continues to coach schools and write books that support schools as they work to achieve high levels of learning for all students.
Kristen Nelson is an Elementary School Principal for the Capistrano Unified School District in California. She has been the principal of several elementary schools, as well as the district’s Executive Director of State and Federal Programs. Kristen is also a professor at Concordia University Irvine and teaches leadership courses for the Orange County Department of Education. Kristen has been instrumental in starting and supporting thriving Spanish dual-language immersion programs and launched the district’s fifth language-immersion program at the elementary level.
