About the Presenters
Denise Donica, DHSc, OTR/L, BCP, FAOTA completed her Doctor of Health Science and Master of Health Science in occupational therapy at the University of Indianapolis in 2007 and 2005 respectively. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology/criminal justice and occupational therapy from Indiana University. She is an assistant professor in the Occupational Therapy Department at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. Her focus of clinical practice has been with the pediatric population through school system and outpatient practice. She has been using the Learning Without Tears™ curricula for over 10 years and is a Level 1 certified handwriting specialist through Handwriting Without Tears by Learning Without Tears. She is currently a consultant and National Workshop Presenter in addition to her faculty position. She has conducted and published research related to student success and handwriting skills. She has also presented nationally and internationally on handwriting-related research.
Keith R. Kline, OTR/L received his Bachelor of Science degree in occupational therapy from Quinnipiac College in Hamden, CT. He has been practicing pediatric OT in a school setting since September 1999. He currently works in the Coventry Public Schools in Coventry, RI where he works with all students, especially those with exceptionalities, from the pre-K to middle school level. He has over 13 years of experience working with the Learning Without Tears® family of products: Get Set For School, Handwriting Without Tears, and Keyboarding Without Tears. He has provided numerous presentations using these programs and is a National Workshop Presenter for the Learning Without Tears company. He offers private tutoring sessions for those families that wish to help their students improve their handwriting and keyboarding skills.
