Can I use edWeb for PD in Pennsylvania?
Yes, edWeb is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for Act 48 hours as of September 1, 2018. View our status as an approved provider through the Professional Education Record Management System.
How can Pennsylvania educators use edWeb.net?
You can view any of our edWebinars live or on-demand, after our approval date of 9/1/2018 and they will qualify for Act 48 hours if you follow the requirements below.
- You must be a member of edWeb.net and be sure your state is indicated as PA. edWeb is free and you can join here.
- You can track your edWebinar viewing, and take the CE Quiz, on your edWebinar transcript page.
- You need to enter your correct PPID number on your edWebinar transcript page. You can access your PPID here.
- You need to pass the CE Quiz for your hour to be eligible for Act 48 credit.
- edWeb member hours that qualify for Act 48 are uploaded to the PERMS system on a weekly basis.
- Only CE certificates earned during your 5-year continuing education period will count towards Act 48 hours. The period begins as of the effective date upon issuance of the educator’s initial Instructional certificate and is renewed after the end date if all requirements are met. Act 48 beginning and end dates can change depending on whether an extension was granted, if a five-year period was completed after the deadline, or if other factors apply. In this case, a new five-year period is assigned beginning the day after the previous five-year period was completed. Read more about the continuing education time period here.
